AIR ASSASSINS
WANTON BOMBING AT TREVISO , AUSTRO-GERMAN ATTACKS (Roc. January 29, 11.45 p.m.) Rome, January 28. The Austro-Gonnan airmen have resumed their attacks on undefended cities. They cannot pretend that they had a military objective, for they bombed throirgn thick clouds, render- ' inn aim impossible. Ninety bombs' i fell in Trcviso. There were six raids I between seven o'clock at uight and daybreak. The bombs destroyed several houses, burying fifteen civilians. There was greater material damage, but fewer victims at Mestre, where the enemy bombed at random and hit three hospitals, wounding three nurses. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. BKITOISIi AIR FIGHTING. London,. January 28. A British official report states:—"ln Italy wo shot down during the past week six aeroplanes. Since the end of November we have brought down thirty-nine machines. AN OFFICIAL REPORT. (Rtc. January 30, 1.35 a.m.) London, January 29. The Press Bureau states:—"Hostile aeroplanes crossed the Kent and Essex coasts at eight this evening.
