AIR INVASION OF GERMANY
ATTACK ON MANNHEIM PREVIOUS RAIDS ECLIPSED London, January 28. The Geneva correspondent of tlio "Daily Express" reports that the British air raid on Mannheim on Thursday eclipsed all previous raids in showing Germany tlio penalties she may expect for bombing open towns. Travellers' in hot flight from Mannheim state that tlio town spent tho night in terror. Panic-stricken people rushed into tho streets half-clothed. The British machines swooped so low that their engines could bo heard . in tho streets, and the Gorman anti-aircraft gunners wero taken by ■ surprise. One bomb fell on tho barracks.
