MISHAP TO S.S. MAORI
a . ..~ PROPELLER BLADE LOST. By Telegraph— Presn Association. Christohurch, January 29. It was not until 11 a.m. to-day that the ferry steamer Maori put in an appearance at Lyttelton. The delay was due to tho vessel having cast a blade ; of the centre propeller when just out- ■ side Wellington Heads. The passenger* j say they felt a shock, and immediately i the engines raced.. There was no ex-; citement, and the vessel proceeded on i her course to Lyttelton at a reduced j speed. The trip occupied about fifteen J ' hours. The propeller could not be re- j paired to-day, tho dry dock being oc- I cupied, and the Maori left, for Welling-! ton to-night with only the starboard j and port propellers in use. She will j probably be docked at Lyttelton on j Thursday.' ' . •
