A meeting of. the council of the Wellington Central Chamber of Commerce was held yesterday, present: Messrs. C. ,31. ' Lulcp (president), A. Leigh Hunt, J. I<\ Atkins, L. Nelson,. H. Hart. R. J. The 'president, mentioned that arrangements had been made for meetings at: Petono and Lower Hutt to consider the desirability of establishing brnrehes at those places. It was decided that the next general meeting should be held on Wednesday. March 13. . A was received from the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce stating that the Railway Department had curtailed the conveniences fcr handling parcels in bulk. The Palmerston Chamber had requested 'the Department to rovert to its former method. It was decided that the chamber should support a. movement initiated by the Westland Chamber of Commerce for a conference to discuss the dovel iprnent of the. resources of the country under tho conditions created by the war
