WELLINGTON SOUTH CIRCUIT.
'file quarterly meeting of the Wellington South circuit was held at Trinity Church on Monday evening, when the Rev. B. Drake presided over a representative attendance of officehearers of the various churches, the Rev. J. Richards being also present. Financially, the working of tlio pnst quarter was considered satisfactory. Reports from the Sunday schools were of an encouraging nature. Tho clcc- ■ tion of officers resulted:—Circuit stewards, Messrs. Martin and Cockerell; foreign mission secretary, Mr. T. Sims; home mission secretary, Mr. S. Boxall; circuit auditors, Messrs. Swiney and Webb; reporter to "Methodist Times," Mr. Swiney. For the forthcoming conference, whioh opens at Dunedin, Messrs. S. T. Martin and T. Fathers were elected representatives, with Mr. Shepherdson. and Mrs. Johnson-Wright as substitutes. In connection with foreign missions, it was mentioned that tho circuit had raised £119 for this purpose, and a hearty vote oF thanks was accorded to Mr. J. P. Shand on his retiring from the office of secretary. A request from the Donald M'Lcau Street congregation that they ho permitted to arraugo for tho services of the Rev. Val. Triggs for an evangelistic mission was acceded to. As tho Rev. J. Richards is leaving tho circuit after conference, and this was the last quarterly meeting at which ho would bo present, vory eulogistic references' were mado to the valuable work done by him since his appointment, and many good wishes for his future success were voicod. Mr. Richards briefly replied, thanking all for tho g"bd will which had been extended to him.
