THE MEAT SHORTAGE
MARGARINE COMMANDEERED
(Rco. January 14, 0.25 a.m.) London, January 12. Meat queues were more prevalent this weok-ond. Many cities are meatless, and the butchers are not opening their shops. It is expected that the meatless day in Britain will not apply to private houses, where it would be impossible to ensuro its enforcement. It is understood the Government is commandeering the 'output of margarine three days a week.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
