SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE
A. mooting of the executive of tlio Second Division League was held last evening, Mr. D. F. Skinner presiding. The decisions of tlio Financial Assistance Board 011 a number of eases were reviowed, and it was decided to go fully into thoso cases which were reported to the league, and make representations to tlio board when decisions were not satisfactory. It was decidcd to ask the Cantorbury League to ascertain particulars of the ease whoro the widow of a New Zealand soldier who had been married in England while with tho Expeditionary Force is alleged to bo non-eligible for widow's pension.Tho secretary stated that, including Auckland, Otago, and Wellington, 20,000 handbooks for reservists had now been ordered to he- printed. A letter had been received from tho Efficiency Board in which it was stated ihat tho chairman, Mr. Ferguson, had pointed out that it would be very helpful for cacli of tlio District Commissioners and Trustee Boards and Committees of Advice to havo a copy, for matters dealt with therein are continually cropping up in correspondence. Tho executive agreed with pleasure to accede to the rcqusfc of the Hfliciency Board for 100 copies. A notice of motion was handed in, "That tho time has arrived for tho loasue to consider political action." Reports from many leagues were received, showing that the membership 'was still increasing, and that a very large number of those called in tlio ballot were seeking- the adyicp of the leagues,
