THE TERRITORIAL FORCE
The appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of tho undermentioned officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps and Territorial Force.have been approved: — 2nd Lieutenant 11. G. de F. Garland, M.C., Ist (Mounted) llifles (Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry), is appointed aide-de-camp (temporarily) to His Excellency the Right Honourable tho Earl of Liverpool, P.C., G.C.M.G., M.V.0., Governor-General and Com-mander-in-Chief, to date from December 1, 1917. Major A. Stenhouse, M.8., U.S., N.Z., New Zealand Medical Corps, is appointed a member of a special district medical board, and is granted the pay of lieutenant-colonel at New Zealand Expeditionary Force rates whilst so acting. Dated April 8, 1917. Captain (temporary) F. Slateij M.8., Ch.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed a member of a special district medical board, and is granted the pay of lieutenant-colonel at New Zealand Expeditionary Force rates whilst so acting. Dated November 19, 1917. The undermentioned aro_ appointed members of a special district medical board. Dated November 17>, 1917 — Captain (temporary) W. H. Pettit, M.8.: Cantain W. A. Hughes, C.M.G., D.5.0.. is granted the honorary rank of colonel on retirement. Ist (Mounted) Rifles (Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry).

Expeditionary Force, is struck off tho strength with effect from December 22, 1917, and is absorbed into the establishment with his original rank and seniority therein, viz., 2nd lieutenant as from January 30, 1915, vide N.Z. Gazette, No. 33, of March 4, 1915., Corps of New Zealand Engineers. N.Z. Post and Telegraph Corps (North • Island Battalion). Major W. J. Worthington (South Island Battalion) is temporarily attached for duty. Gazette, No. 52, of March 1917. 2nd Lieutenant W. L. Wnddell, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the .strength, with effect from December 26, 1917,1 an dis absorbed with his original rank f.nd seniority, viz., 2nd lieutenant, as froih May 27, 1916, vide N.Z. Gazette, No. 139, of December 34, 1916. 2nd Lieutenant K. G. Chamberlain, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off tho strength, with_ effect from December 22, 1917, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority, viz., 2nd lieutenant, as from October 14, 1910, vide N.Z. Gazette, No. 139, of December 14, 1916. Now Zealand Medical Corps. The appointment of Captain (on pro. bation) W. A. Wheeler, M.D., 8.5., R. Uni. Ire., is confirmed. F. Slater, M.U., Ch.B., is granted the temporary rank of captain. Dated November 27, 1917. Captain R. Stout, M.8., M.D., M.U.C.S., Eng., L.R.G'.P., Lond., I'YIi.C.S., Ediu., was posted for duty with the N.Z. .Expeditionary Forco as from May 18, 1915, and takes seniority llext above Captain George Fenwick in the N.Z. Expeditionary Forpe. New Zealand Chaplains' Department. Tho notification published in -.he N.Z. Gazette, No. 132, of August 23, 1917, relating to the Rev. AV. CurzonSiggers, Chaplain to the Forces, second class, is cancelled. The appointment of the Rev. "W. Curzon-Siggers, Chaplain to tho Forces, second class, is extended for a further period of two years ,as from November 13, 1917. The Rev. J. F. Coursey, Chaplain to the Forces,-ionrtli class, N.Z. Expeditio'nary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from December 20, 1917, and absorbed with his original rank and seniority, viz., Chaplain to tho Forces, fourth class, as from September 5, 1914, vide N.Z. Gazette, No. 103, of September 24, 1917. New Zealand Army Ivursing Service. 'Matron E. Plowman is struck off tho strength of tho N.Z. Twining, N.Z. .Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength with effect from December 2, 1917, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority, viz., second lieutenant, as from Decembor 14, 1916, vide N.Z. Second Lieutenant (on probation) D. Ilolderness is granted the temporary rank of lieutenant whilst holding; the appointment of camp works engineer officer, Fontherston Camp. Dated April 1, 1917. Errata. With reference to the notification published in the N.Z. Gazette, No. 168 of November 15, 1917, relating to Lieutenant S. Joyce, Unattached List (b), Gcneiol List, for the word "lieutenant" reau "second lieutenant."
