RAILWAY COLLISION
MEAT WAGON DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, December 7. A collision occurred at Westfield Station early 'this morning, when a goods train from Auckland ran into a stationary meat train, the latter being partly on the main lines and partly on a siding. Twelve wagons were derailed. > One was demolished. Tho wagons contained frozen meat intended for shipment. Otherwise thore was no damage to cither train. Passenger traffic was delayed for a considerable time. A porter on one train _ had his face severely cut, none of tho others was injured. The Main Trunk express, due at Auckland at 6.38 this morning, was delayed at Westfield. The passengers were transhipped there, and arrived here at 8.25. The line was clear soon after 10 a.m.
