CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED MURDER
ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. •By Tcleeranh—Press Association. Hamilton, December 7. At the Police Court, William Albert Harry was charged,with the attempted murder, by shooting, of David Kernohan, a miner, at Huntly, on November 2. Both are young men.
Kernohan stated that he was boarding with accused. After a friendly tali, accused secured a gun and fired at point blank range, the shot entering his right shoulder. He had been an inmate of the Waikato Hospital ever since. .There was no provocation.
Dr. Douglas, superintendent of the hospital, etated. that the wound was a very serious one, and the arm would be permanently disabled. '
Oonstable' Farr, of Huntly, stated that accused came to the police station saying: "I shot Dave Kernohan for violating my wife. I have had no sleep , for nine nights. I am satisfied now." On going to the house, Kernohan said: "Harry shot me."
Accused pleaded.not guilty, and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court next week. No bail was allowed-
