GREY ELECTION
WRIT WILL PROBABLY ISSUE NEXT WEEK.
It is «ndorstood that the resignation of Mr. P. C. Webb, member for Grey, is now on the way to Mr. Speaker. If ft is in order it may bo taken for granted that tho writ for a new election will bo i6sueu during next week. Not less than twelvo days' notice must bo given of tho election, and the writ must be returnable in twenty-eight days. It is usual to allow a, week after the polling day in which to prepare the official returns, and tn Oris case it will no doubt bo considered desirable to have the returns m and everything washed np a few days before the Christmas holidays. Assuming that it is decided to mako the writ returnablo on December 19, which eeems a probable date, election day may bo Wednesday, December 12.
