Hcuter's correspondent at Headquarters in Palestine reports: "The majority of the Turks who were at Gaza crossed the Wadi-el-Hesi (seven miles from Gaza), but a remnant is still at Beitlahi (five miles north of Gaza), where is maintained by the Yeomanry and Indian cavalry. "Within ten days we have captured Uie towns of Gaza and Beersheba, demolished defence lines representing months_ of labour directed by German technical skill, taken nearly 4000 prisoners, and captured 30 guns and great quantities of war material. Our aviators harp established complete superiority in the air. A squadron of 21 aeroplanes bombarded Askelon to-day."—Keuter. a generaTretreat The following dispatch has been received from the High Commissioner:— London, November 8, 7 p.m. Official—"At midnight on Tuesday tho Turkish works southwards of Gaza were captured and our advance continued on the right as far as Ali Mumzar Hill, dominating tho town, and oil ( the left to Sheik Eedwan fortifications and the mouth of the AVadi Hesi, eight miles north of the original lino. The .indications point to a general Turkish retirement northwards."
