EXEMPTION OF TEACHERS
THE BILL IN SUSPENSE. The Expeditionary ForcC6 Bill is still in ft position like that of Mahomet's coffin. The first conference between representatives of the two Houses sat for two hoars last night, and failed to agree. It is understood that they did. not get any way towards agreement, and that the chance, of a second or any subsequent conferlaces, being able to agree' upon a compromise or any other solution acceptable to both Houses are slender.
This means that it is ! probable that the Bill will not pass. Thero is nothing in the measure of any real value exoept the contentious clause. Few members believe that there is any real danger of a smash of the National Cabinet, or of a dissolution.
