FOOD ON A TRANSPORT
QUESTION IN PARLIAMENT. A complaint about the qualify of food served to one detachment if New Zealand soldiers on a certain troopship was made in the House of Representatives yesterday by Mr. \V. H. I'ield. He asked, the Minister whether he was taking action to prevent the shamei6ss profiteering practised by a shipping company - yn. transports by the under-feeding of-the men on the ship. ) ■ Sir James Alien: That is a matter that has been up for consideration. There w*is some bad butter supplied to the ——• by contractors here in Wellington, Bray Brothers. The matter has been referred to the Crown Law Office, and they have reported that there is no ground for an action. But the matter \pll not oe allowed to rest there. (Hear, near.)
