Appearances point to'Bennier having slashed his throat and then walked to the river bank with tho intention of drowning himself, but ho returned to tho house, and again cut his throat. His recovery is doubtful. - .

DEATH OP ONE OF THE VICTIMS. Later. Mrs. Bennior, one of the victims of the Kaungaroa tragedy, died in the Hospital at five o'clock this afternoon: J. he assailant was her husband.
