In connection with the Kaungaroa tragedy tho.Hospital doctor states that had the axe used by Bennier been sharp all the victims would have been killed. Matson is still in a critical condition. Mrs. Bonnier is in a low state. Bennier cut his throat to the windpipe! Appearances point to'Bennier having slashed his throat and then walked to the river bank with tho intention of drowning himself, but ho returned to tho house, and again cut his throat. His recovery is doubtful. - .
DEATH OP ONE OF THE VICTIMS. Later. Mrs. Bennior, one of the victims of the Kaungaroa tragedy, died in the Hospital at five o'clock this afternoon: J. he assailant was her husband.
