SEA COVERED WITH PUMICE

Thf "Star's" Tonga correspondent states that he cutter Janet, .on her voyage from Niuafu to Vavmi, on August 20, passed for twelvo miles through a sea thickly covered with pumice. Despite a five to seven-knot breeze the vessel's progress was stopped. Tho puniice field extended to the horizon in all directions.
