(Stock Department), report having held a special sale of r.airy stock at there Mangahao Yards, Pahiatua, on Wednesday, when they offered about 130 head of springing and in-calf cows and heifers. The bulk of the yarding consisted of medium quality, backward heifers, for which there was only a moderate demand. In heifers, top prices wore £11 7(3 6d. for a pen of good quality and conditioned heifers, near calving, fold on account of Mr. W. 'M'Leod, and £12 for a nice, quality heifer at drop, sold on account of Dr. Dawson. Cows at drop were in better demand. The cattle advertised on account of Messrs. E. Riddiford and J. M'Leod came forward m fair condition. Buyers were present from Feilding and Wellington and the surrounding districts were well represented.
