MILITARY SERVICE BOARD
YESTERDAY'S APPEALS. The Third Wellington Military' Service Board sat in Wellington yesterday. Mr. H. J. Beswick presided, and with Km were Messrs. M. J.' Mack and A. Considine. Captain P. Baldwin, represented the military. • The following cases were adjourned for three months:—George Selby, carpenter, Lyall Bay; George Vance Alexander Shannon, farmer, Plimmerton; James Abraham Dunn, farming contractor, SUverstream; Thomas Henry O'Sullivan, tinsmith; John Thomas Singer, dairy fanner, Paraparaumu; Williajn Crawford, Civil Servant, Wellington. In tho case of Private William D. Bell, Feathorston Camp, the board recommended that appellant should not leave the coontry for three months. . Adjournments for two moniaS were made in the cases of' Harold Joseph Lynch, farm assistant, Paekakariki; John Frederick Eager, Trentham Camp; and M. P.' O'Eeilly, railway employee, Greymouth. The board dismissed the appeal <>f Harvey AYatson Ferrar, and granted appellant leave till December 12. The employer's appeal for tho exemption of James Crowley, coachsmita, Tinakori Road, was dismissed. _
The case of Eichard W.'Jenkins, sanitary plumber, Jackson Street. Petone. was adjourned till the first sitting of the board after November 20. The following cases were adjourned sine die:—William M'Lean, butcher, Hutt Road, Petone; C. Stevenson, dairy instructor, Manaia; William N. Egglestone, officer in charge of the Native branch of the Public Trust Office; James Honahan, section clerk, Brooklyn (appeal by Commissioner of Taxes); •Alexander M. Ross, medical practitioner, Auckland. Leave till September 19 was allowed Arthur Elliott Ramsay, assistant meat inspector, Gisborne, and Adam Niion, Newtown.
The appeal of T. W. Burrell. farmer, Wallaceville, was dismissed, and appellant was granted three months' leave. Private Arthur Henry Vernham, Feathereton Camp, who appealed on th« ground of roligious objection, had his appeal dismissed. The board adjourned the case of H. A. M'Gregor, marine engineer, Wellington, to the first sitting after November 25. The board will Bit again to-day.
