THIRTIETH REINFORCEMENTS DEFEAT WELLINGTON. At Association Park, Kilbirnie, on Saturday afternoon, an interesting match was played hot ween representatives of tho 3QMi Reinforcements, from Tauhorenikau, and iv Wellington team. The players were:— 30ths: M'Laughlin (captain), Jackson, Coghill, Simcock, O'Snllivan, Gregory, Bristol, Itcid. Olovcrlcy. Wilkiiiß, and . Bnrnctt. Wellington: M'Oaw. Wandcn, Bell, MaFon, Rarity. Crane, Spencer, Evans, Manlcy, Mooucy, Halley. The game was fairly fast, and very even. During tho first spell, no scoro was registered, though numerous unsuccessful shots at, coal, wero made. Tho gamo sultored considerably from the fact, that, a heavy wind was blowing across the field all the. time, hi the second term Barnetl. scored for Tiiulicrpnika.il, and some time later 'Manlcy (Wellington! succeeded in equalising matters. Halley (Wellington) made fcvrral attempts to put tho ball between Uio posts, but, forfuno did not favour him. Very near fn the ea.ll of time, Roid won the match Tor Tauliercnikau by adding a, goal. .Coghiil played conspicuously well for flic Thirtieths. OTHER MATCHES. At. Kilbirnie Park, Thorndon (Fourth Grade) defeated Institute B (fourth Grade) hy four lo one. The game was not a particularly fast. one. Thorndon's goals were scored by Thomas (three) and Morgan (one). Newton scored for Institute. At, the same park, Empiro met Island Bay. In the first spell, neither side scored. buL iu the second Hart, and Daly each scored a, goal for .Empire. Another goal by Empire was due to an Island Pay player. Island Day did not score.
