•:. ARRIVAL IN THE HOUSE. The member for Grey (Mr. P. C. Webb) toot his seat in the House last evening after an enforced absence while ho was eerving a sentence for breach of the War Regulations. He "was allowed to tako his seat without anyone in the Tlouse taking tho slightest notice of him, but at length Rome one in the public gallery began to clap his hands loudly. ■ It was ft solo performance, however, and as no one else joined in he soon desisted. Mr. Payne happened to be speaking, and when he saw his friend Jlr. Webb eitting down besido him he said: "I Bee there's a convict como in, Mr. Speaker." Mr. Speaker: Order. The honourable member must proceed with his speech. Mr. Payne: An ex-convict. I beg his pardon. Mr. Speaker again called "Order." . Xfi\ Payne went on with Us speech, and the only sign of tfie incident left .'was Mr. Webb's nervous smile of embarrassment or confusion.
