THE "GLAD-EYEDLERS"

ENTERTAINMENT AT FBATHERSTOiN'. On Saturday night, at the Aiizac Club, I'eatherslou, u packed house awaited Llio appearance of the "Glad-eyedlers." '■' he club's comfortable 6ocial iiall, which, by the way, can seat COO, looked a fine sight, the khaki portion of the audience numbering nearly 500. 'J ho programme was one of high merit, and (.'Specially well suited to tho taste of the soldiers, to whom' pretty costumes and mountings are n welcome change, and excellent stage management had provided for these. In their songs, dances, and sketches, the performers were very little short ot professional standard, and the audience was liberal in its approval, almost e\ery item being recalled. A bright and clever entertainment was concluded about ten o'clock, and on the call of Mr. \V. E. Jiidwill, president of the cheers were given to the performers. The lady members of the company were: Meedames Hnghes-Steele, E. Riddifqrd, C. A. Griffiths, Misses Campbell, Wilford, Turnbull, H. Miles, Haybittlo, nnd J. Mnjfin, and their items were rendered with a vivacity and finish which would do credit to most professionals. The comedy work of the men was of tho best, particularly in a travesty of the career of a si-Micr, which caused much amusement. Soldiei-3 were admitted free to the performance, a charge being made for civilians, and the proceeds will go to the Trench Comforts Fund.

"The Gliul-ayodlpi-s" have arranged to Rive another performance in Wellington in view of the fact that many intending patrons could not secure seating accommodation when the entertaining little company appeared at the Concert Chamber of the Town Kail recently. The entertainment, will be given at the Paramount Theatre, Courtmiay Pake, on Thursday next, and will be in aid of the funds of the War Relief Association.
