LICENSING OF MOTORS
\_\ T ENDOKSKJIKNT. At last evening's meeting of the Cilj Council' tho following esohition was passed:— "That the following suggestions of U.e Timaru Borough Council, with respect to tho licensing of motor-ears ami motorcycles, be appoxed, viz.: (a) That the Government be urged to amend the law so as to make it compulsory for all motor registering mthorities to examine drivers and issue yearly licenses to competent'drivers of motor-cars and motorcycles; tliat the yearly license fee oe fixed at ss. for drivers of motor-care and "s 6d for drivers of motor-cycles; that inch drivers shall license in the district in which they rwide. and that any license so issued shall during its currency entitle the licensee tn drive in anyother district in the Dominion, (b) J. hat front and rear identification marks be made compulsory. (<•) That all regute:--iiv authorities be requested to supports this council in ilie direction indicated. ■\nd that Hip horonsli be informed tint, this council is of opinion that the question of motov control is one that slioiiid be dealt with in a more comprehensive manner at the opportune time.
