Tho City Council at its meeting tonight decided, in view of tha Public Works Department being unable to cope with the council'e increased demands for electricity during the next two years on account of its mtter inability to obtain the necessary plant to extend tho Lake Coleridge generating station, to instal a producer gas standby plant, at a cost of several thousand pounds. Tho Department has been asked" to pay a. fihare of the cost, 6coin£ that ttio outlay is necessitated owing to it being unable to fulfil its contiact to supply power.
