POLICE CASES. Mr. L. G. Eeid, S.M., presided at IUo Mamstrate's Court, and dealt with tho police business. l'Jiillis Ferraro, a woman of the unfortunate class, who since her release ironi gaol recently has been living a life- o£ I immorality, ivas sentenced to three- months' imprisonment on being convicted of being an incorrigblo rogue and vagabond in that she possessed insufficient lawful means of support. limma Crawford, convicted, of being a rogue- and. a vagabond in that sho was found bj' night on private property in ibor Street, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. For comniitting a, grossly indecent act in Cuba (Street George l'errin va-3 fined Ws., in default 14 days' imprisonment. On a second charge of being, drunk he was convicted and discharged. pharlea Francis Lcatham trespassed on liis wife's dwelliugliaiiso during the currency of a separation order, and did so while intoxicated. For this oifenco he vraa fined 205., with the option of serving seven days in gaol, and for being drunk he was lined a further 10s., in default threo days' imprisonment. For insobriety James Hodges and James Ward were each fined 10s., in the alternative to serve three days in gaol. Two nrst offenders were convicted, and discharged. Walter Laiiccy Colo was charg-ed with being an idle and disorderly person in that ho habitually consorted -with reputed .prostitutes. After hearing the ovidenco of three constables the Magistrate convicted accused and sentenced him ■to two months' imprisonment. . Peter Clancey was convicted of being found helplessly drunk at Otnki, and was ordered to pay £2 18s. 6d. medical and other expenses. CIVIL OASES. Judgment was given by Mr. TV'. G.
