HOCKEY

LADIES' ASSOCIATION. Tho ladies' hockey competitions wero commenced at Karori Park on Saturday in fine weather. In tho senior games tlio play, taken all round, was good. In the match Ramblers A v. Public Trust the latter, playing two short, put up a great defence, and with a full toam will be very hard to beat. University A v. Wellington Girls' College A.—The play was vory even, and at times very bright. Diversity B team just managed ■to defeat Ramblers B. The Wellington Girls' College B (last year's junior) team defeated Huatahi after a good game. In tho juniors Wellington Girls' College won by default from the Y.W.C.A., while Te Aro School soored through tho non-ap-pearance of Technical College.

University Av. Girls' College. -. In. the first spell University opened tho scoring: by Miss Windlcy finding the net just before half-time. Miss H. Easterfiekl for College equalled. 111 the second spell Mis 3' Wallace for University and Miss Geddis for College both scored, the gomo ending in a draw. Mr. A. W. Manning was referee.

Ramblers A. v. Public Trust. "In tho first spell the play was very even, both sides playing with great dash. Just before half-time Miss Wilkin, for Ramblers, scored. In the second spell .Miss 'Williams (2) and Miss' Lango (1) scored for E amblers, Ramblers winning by i goals to nil. Mr. J. 0. Cusack was referee.

University B v. Ramblers B. The -match resulted, in a win for the University team by one' goal to nil, Miss Parroft scoring in the first /spell. Mr. Sherwood had charge of the game. , Girls' College B' v. Huahati. In the first spoil Miss Humo, for Huahati, and Miss Muller, for College, scored. In tho second spell tho College had all the beat of the game, putting on tlireo goals, the' scorers beinp Misses Alexander, Wake, and winning by i goals to 1. Mr.Soly was referee.
