STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION,
The ninoteenth annual meeting qf the Victoria University College Students' Association (Incorporated) was held in the Gymnasium Building lost Friday, when tho president, Mr. Kay, presided over a meeting of about 160 students. The annual report showed that 350 students and ex-students have r o!iuitocred and been accepted for active service up to date, and of theso forty have laid down their lives, including two Rhodes Scholars, Captain. Alan MaoDougall and Lieut. Athol Hudson. During the year members of the association knitted ami sent to the front some 200 pairs of 6ox, and also collected two cases of clothing for the Belgians in England. It was decided at the meeting that £25 be donated out of the Patriotic Eii.nd to the "Wellington War Relief Association. The following officers wero .elected for the coming year Patron, Professor- Garrow; president, Mr. S. A. Wiren; vice-presidents, Miss E. J. Crawford and Mr. J. H. Sheat; ,hon. secretary, Mr._ H. D. C. Adams; hon. treasurer, Mis 3 J. Park and Mr. E. Evans; committee, Misses Woodhotiss, Mackenzie. and Crabb, Messrs. Joplin, Hemery, Cooper, and Rishworth; hon, auditor, Mr. G. W. I?. Rouse; tournament delegates, Messrs. G. G. G. Watson and A. J. M'Lennan.
Miss Martha Steven, 8.A., B.Sc., at present on the staff of the Technical College, Wangauui, has been appointed by the Otago Education Board to the position of tutor and librarian at the Dunedin Training College. The grade of salary is to £310 per annum.. Miss Steven was educated at the Papakaio School and the Waitaki Girls' High School, was trained as a teacher in the Dunedin Training College, and subsequently. served on the staffs of the Ash; burton High School and ibe Wanganui Technical College.
Mr. .T. C. Tosswill (Hastings) is spending iv few weeks in Sydney with hor husband, Dr. Tosswill. They expect to return eomo time in July.
