SOUTHERN MARKET
By Telegraph.—Press Association.Christchurch, May 25. • : There is practically notirin? doing- in the grain market, business being at a . standstill through there being no .offerings of -wheat or oats. The potato mar- ■; ket is dull, as the.North Island market .is full for the present, and shipping space in the immediate future is -uncertain. It is probable,-' in the absence of demand, that growers Vill now begin to pit tbeir potatoes. The price is nominally M to £i ss. at country- stations, but buyers are generally "holding off making purchases at present.
