FIRST MEETINGS. Tho following dates have been fixed upon for tho first meeting of the various standing committees of tho Wellington City Council:—May 9 (to-day), Leaseholds Cmnmitteo; Way 10, Kcsoi'ves Committee; i/ay 11, Outlying Districts Committee and By-Laws Committee j May 14, Public Health and Baths, Beaches, and Libraries Com- : mittces; May 15, Tramways and Finance Committees. Councillor Godber does not intend to stand for tho chairmanship of the Public Health Committee, which may fall to Councillor 11. A. Wright. It is practically certain that Councillor Frost will again be tho chairman of tho Hesorves Committee; Councillor A. U. Atkinson of the Leaseholds Committee; Councillor M'Kenzie of tho Outlying Districts Committee; and Councillor M. F. Luckio of tho Batlis, Beaches') and Libraries Committee.
