RESULT OF THE BALLOT.

Mr. Eoberts, secretary of the Waterside Workers' Federation, has now received all the official returne of the ballot taken.on the question of accepting or rejecting the agreement drafted at a recent conference, andthe -result shows that the new agreement has been accepted by a large majority. Or the total eighteen federated unions in New Zealand ; not quite two-thirds of the members voted on the question, the figures being: For acceptance of agreement, 2324; against acceptance, 687 ; making a majority of 1637. the agreement. The size of the vote is explained by the fact that owing to the shortage of work on waterfront at Eomo of the pons, the men have gone inland to get work and could not vote. '
