Messrs. Dalgcty and Company, Limited, report holding their fortnightly salo at Taihapo on Wednesday, when a, fair entry of both sheen and cattle camo to band. Thcro was a good attendance of buyers, and all lines met with ready sale at prices satisfactory to vendors. Quotations:— Sheep: Mixed-aged owes, 275. id.; empty ewes, 125.; two to four-tooth wethers, 31a. 6d. to 335.; nixed lambs, Us. Ad., 17s. Ad., to 17s. fid. Cattle: .Mixed wcaners, £5 17s. I 6d. to £5 lis. 6d.; twenty-month steers, £9 17s. 6d. to £10 lis.; two and a halfyear steers, £10 Is. to £12 2s. 6d.; threeyear heifers, £8 Is.; cows, £6 135.; threeyear steers, £12 9s. 6d. to £13 "Is. Messrs. Balgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual salo at Waiakanao on Thursday, when they offered a small yarding of sheep and cattle. They quote:—Medium woolly lambs, 14s. 6d.; three-year steers, £13 55.; heifers in milk, to £12 155.; springing heifers, £10; in.s. wcaners, £2 7s. 6d. Messrs. Dalgcty and Company, Limited, report having held a most successful clearing sale of dairy stcolf, furniture, sundries, etc., at Eua Eoa on Wednesday, on account of Mr. C. 0. Thomson. The cows were a particularly good lot. Coinpetition was keen for all good quality young cows, duo August and September, a buyer from the Manawatu taking some of the highest-priced ones. Prices ranged from £7 to £7 17s. 6d., the herd of 54 cows (including two three-teaters and one empty cow) averaging slightly over £11 12s. 6d. per head, which for the time of tho year must be considered highly satisfactory. The following is a range of prices:—£7. £8, £8 10s., £9 10s., to £10 10s. for aged October calves; £11. £11 10s.. £12, £13, £14, £14 155., £15 55., £16, £16 10s., £16 155., to £17 17s. 6d. for young cows, August and September calvers; wcaner heifers, £3 125.; heifers in calf, £9 55.; eighteen-month empty heifers, £4 135., £6 12s. 6d., to £6 17s. 6d. Pigs: Empty sow, £2; porkers, 13s. Horses: Two-year unbroken colt, £10 2s. 6d.; spring-cart horse, £27 55.; five-year harness maro, £10 10s. Dogs, £2 ss. to £5 ss. Messrs. Dalgety and Company. Limited, report having a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle at their Palmerston North salo on Thursday, all lines changing hands at satisfactory prices to vendors. Competition wbb fair and a, good clearance was made at the following prices :~Sheep: Eomney cross wether lambs at 255. 3d.; b.f. lambs, 145., 15s. 6d., 19s. 6d., 20s. 3d., to 20s. 9d. Messrs. There was good competition, resulting in a total clearance at the following prices :—Primo fat ewes, 345. 5d.; forward condition two-tooth wethers, 335. Limited, Masterton, report on their monthly sale at Alfredton:—Competition. for cattle was very keen, but sheep were neglected. A good clearanco was made' at the following prices:—Forward ewes, 365. A line of Lincoln wether woolly lambs, offered on account of Grace Bros., Gladstone, realised 28s. 6d. > Cattle were selling well at last week's rata.
