THE SECOND DIVISION
MEN TO BE CLASSIFIED. By Telegraph-Press Association. Dunedin, February 7. The Hon. J. Allen stated to-night, in regard to military service, that instructions had been given tho Defence Department to formulate proposals for the classification of men, in Division 11. Before any men are taken from Division II, ; thoso in Division I whose cases have been a'ajourned sine die will bo reviewed by the 'Military Service Boards, and those engaged in essential industries will bo left. Respecting tho proposals of the Petone Borough_G'ouneil, Mr. Allen enumerated what tno Government is doing for soldiers, and expressed the opinion that its proposals were better than the poposals of the Petone Council.
