RESTRICTIONS TO BE IMPOSED.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchuroh, February' 6. The Hon. G. W. Russell (Minister of Internal Affairs) made tho Rowing statement to-day:—"The attention of the Government has been drawn to the large number of women who are leaving New Zealand at the present time for tho Mother Country, and it has been; decided , that restrictions shall be imJ posed on future departures- It therefore ■ has been decided that in future passports shall not be issued to women, except in cases of exceptional nccessitj. The policy of restricting the departura of men will be still further tightened.
