Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report on their Otaki sale, held on December 20, as under:—We offered an exceptionally good yarding of both sheep and cattle to a large attendance of buyers. Competition for sheep was and we quitted our yarding. • Cattle, were again slow of sale under the hammer, but good business was done after the sale, and we have to report a cloaranco of all our .principal lines. Prices .were as follow :-6heep: Fat wethers and ewes, 325. to' 325. 9d.; two-tooth wethers, small, 28s. 6d.; four-shear Bomney rams, 2Jgns. Cattle: Pat bullocks, light, £13 55.; fat cows, £11 to £13; lighter sorts, £8 Bs., £9 He., to £10 10s.; cows in calf. £9 165.; twoyear S.H. bull, 15gns.; four-year forward bullocks, £14 10s.; two-year steers, £8 Is.; 18-month steers, £4 10s., £6 165., to £7; yearling steers, £2 12s. to £4 65.; 18-month heifers, r.w.h.. £4 125.-6 d.; m.s. weaners. £1 .12s. to £3; potter bulls, tp £8. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. report that at their Levin yards on Tuesday they offered a fair: entry of both sheep and cattle to a good attendance of buyers, when practically a clearance was made at the following prices:—Fat and forward wetherß, 345. 4d.; good store wethers, 325. 5d.; medium two-tooth wethers, 275. 9d.; medium fat cows, £10 ss. to £11 2s. 6d.; light fat heifers. £10 55.; two-year Jersey heifers, r.w.b., £7 17s. 6d.; fifteen-montK heifers, good, £6 10s.; small yearling heifers. 12s. 6d.; mixed-sex wcancr •calves, £2 55.; yearling Jersey bulls, £4 10s.; cow in milk, £15.
Messrs. Dalgety and'' Company, Limited, report on their Levin sale of December 19 as follows:—"We offered' a small yarding of sheep and a medium one of cattle to the usual attendance of buyers. Sheep ■wore again keenly competed, for, but cattle, lu sympathy with other markets, were dragging of sale. YTo quote:— Sheep: Two-tooth wethers, small, 255. lid. to 265. Id.-' Cattle: Fat cows, £U IBs. to £12 ss. i vealers. £4 £s.; three-year bullocks, to £13 2s. 6d.; store cows, £7 8s„ £8 10s. to £9 Bs.; m.s. weaners, £2 Us.
■ Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale in their Waipoua silo yards on Wednesday, when they submitted a fair yarding of sheep and cattle to- a good attendance of buyers. Prices ranged as follows:—Ewes and Lambs, 385., 38s. 6d„ to 50s. 4d.; porkers, 225.; weaners. 10s., 125., to 155.; fat cows, £14; store cows. £9 Is.; bulls, i £13 13s.
