MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Mr. W. G- Riddell, S.M., presided over a short sitting of the' Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. . . For insobriety, Alfred Nelson and William May wero each fined 205., with an alternative of three days' imprisonment. Charles Henderson, charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Constable Fitzgerald, was remanded till December 28. Bail was fixed'in the accused's own bond of £150, and two sureties of £75. ! Mr. L. G. Iteid, S.M., presided over the afternoon session of tho Court. Further evidence was heard in the adjourned case in which Clara Alice Ross (alias Clara. Holm), James Arthur Ross, and James Gibbons were charged with having robbed Ballono Gavino of £3 10s., using personal violence. Tho robbery was alleged tdliavo taken place in the Ross's house in Martin Street on December 3. The accused wore committed for trial.
