CATHOLIC PICNIC
The annual picnic, organised by the Catholic Education Board, will' take place at Karori Park on Boxing Day. The picnic last year was ' held at tho same grounds,' and they proved most suitable as a picnic resort. The Karori Borough Council lias not only granted the .uso of the grounds, but also all tho buildings erected thereon, including the tea kiosk, which will be managed* by a committee of Indies. A special programme of sports for adults and children has been arranged, and attractive side shows will-be erected. The children attending the Catholic schools of the City will be 'conveyed by special cars, leaving Island Bay, Kilbirnie, Brooklyn, 'Newtown, and Thorildon. Arrangements have been made with the tramway authorities to run a ten-minute servico to the Park from Courtenay Place, and the servico will be augmented if traffic is offering. Special tramway, tickets, costing 25., have been created, providing for the transit of the holders from any part of Wellington, and' also giving them the concession to transfer from any car to the Karori cars at places convenient to thorn. It also provides for admission to the grounds and for the return journey.
