TheWairarapa Liverpool Equipment Committee are supplementing the dinner at the Featherston camp on Ohristmas;Day with mince pies, cakes, fruit, cool drinks, smokes, sweets, etc. Memhers of, the committee have arranged to go to the camp on Christmas Day fo give out the extras- which they are providing. ' ■
Aiv appeal is being made in the.Wairarapa for ninety Maori recruits to go. into camp in January, February, and March..
Settlers in the Masterton district are complaining of a shortage of water, and unless the weather soon breaks there is likely to/be a iall in the price of store stock.

'Die thermometer, registered 86 'degrees, Fah., in the shad'e,' in Masterton on Monday. The Military Medical Board concluded its examination of military recruits at Masterton on Monday,'and left for the .north in the evening. Quite a large number of men who had previously been rejected wero accepted for home and active service.
Boy Scouts, from ,Pahiatua, EketaTiuna, Alfredton, Mauriceville, Thvui, Carterton, Masterton,' Greytown, and Featherston will go into camp on the Solway show grounds on December 28. Four rinks from the Masterton Bowling Club will compete at the Dominion tournament in Wellington.
Permission has been given the proprietors of picture halls to give picture entertainments in Masterton. on the night of Christinas Day. The Masterton Borough C'ouncilhas supported a resolution of the Hbkitika Borough Council, to the effect that the resources of the Dominion should be organised, in order to defeat the common enemy. , The Military Medical Board will visit Masterton again on January 38.
