December 23,' at 8 p.m. The noxt best dispatch for correspondence addressed to United Kingdom and Continent of Europe will bo via Vancouver, closing at Wellington, per Main Trunk train, on Saturday, December 23, at 8 p.m. . , Mails for Australian States and South Africa close at- Auckland, per Wcstralia, on Tuesday, December 19, at 1.45 p.m. As correspondence for all neutral countries is subject to censorship it is urged in order to avoid delays that, suoh correspondence be posted in ample time for the mail, tho day previous to Its dispatch *11 possible. ' Parcels for dispatch by steamers and trains, -with the exception of the usual ferry steamers for southern offices, close at. the Chief Post Office, Wellington, one hour before the advertised times of closing of mails. On Saturday, December 23, the lettercarriers will make a full afternoon delivery in the City and suburbs for which correspondence must' be posted at the Chief Post Office by 1.40 p.m; Correspondence addressed to streets in the City and suburbs will be delivered from the lettercarriers' department (entrance upstairs from Featherston Street at the Chief Post Office) from 8 to 9 p.m., also the public delivery counter will be open for delivery of correspondence addressed to the Chief Post Office from Bto 9 p.m. The parcel delivery counter will he opend from 8 to 9 p.m. The mail for America and United Kingdom, via Vancouver, will close at 8 " Ori Monday, December <!5 (Christmas Day), the Postal Department will he closed in all its branches. Mails for dispatch by steamers sailing, on Christmas Day will close at 8 p.m. on the previous Saturday; also the mail for America and United Kingdom, via Vancouver, will close at 8 p.m. on Saturday. The only dispatches of mails by trains on Christmas Day will close qslfollows:— For Wairarapa, > Hawke's Bay, Manawatu., Rangitikei, Wangariui, and l'aranaki districts at 5.45 a.m., for Aucklond and Auckland district at 8 a.m. Tho City and suburbs receivers will not bo cleared during the day, but the midnight clearances will be made as usual. On Tuesday. December 26 (Boxing Day), the Chief Post Office will be open in all its branches (except Money-order and Savingß Bank) from 9to 10 a.m. Mails for dispatch by steamers will close at 8 a.m. and the only dispatch of mails by trains will close as-,, follows For Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay,' Manawatu, Rangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts at 545 . a.m.. for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. There will be one delivery by letter-cariers in the City and suburbs for which correspondence must be posted at tho Chief Post Office by 7 a.m The street receivers mil not be cleared during the day; midnight clearances will be made as ueual.
