GERMAN MAIN FORCE CUT IN HALVES ONE HALF SURRENDERS The High Commissioner reports:— London, December 1, 12.25 p.m. General Smuts reports: ."In East Africa the main German force was divided. One part was caught between converging British columns and driven northwards; the remainder was forced to. surrender north-eastwards of Neulangenburg. The remnant of General AVahle's force is reduced to half by casualties, and is making eastward for Mahongo.
