THE LOST ZEPPELINS
NECESSARY EXPLANATIONS IN GERMAN PRESS (Hauler's Telejrram.) Copenhagen, November 30. The "Vossische Zeitung" declares that the latest loss of. two Zeppelins is undoubtedly due to the enormous strengthening' of the British air defences. It says the conimandors of the destroyed 'raiders wcro Captain Diedrich and -Naval-Lieut. Frankenburg, who were among the ablest officers in Germany. ; ' Australian-New Zealand Oabla Association. December 1, 10.40 p.m.) London, December 1. ■ The "Daily Telegraph's" Rotterdam correspondent states that tho German newspapers, frankly recognise ■■ the strength of the British anti-aircraft defences. It seems that tho Government desires to damp popular enthusiasm for Zeppelin frightfulness, knowing well that, those hopes cannot, bo realised. The "Lokal AJizeiger" says: "The 1 British appear to have created at last | effective defences." Tho "Hamburg Fremdenblatt" says: ' "Our air heroes know that death awaits | tliem, for Britain has collected stupendous defences." .
