FEILDING MEETING BRONK DELAVAL WINS MANCHESTER HANDICAP. By Telegraph—Special Correspondent. Feilding. November 30. Tho second day of tho Feildiug- Jockey Club's races wero held to-day in fine weather. The totalizator for the day handled X21J393, as against ,£20,181' for the second .flay last year. The total for tlio meeting- was .£ll,Blß, as against £'■!$,- 705 for last year. Tlio opening .event was the Yorlc Stakes, seven 'furlongs, and it attracted a field of 13 runners. Kangitero was the actual favourite, but Gaycium, Astor, and Lady Black wero very closo to him in public favour. At the start Tressida showed ont, and led round tho back from Botanist, while Kangitcro was, badly placed, and Menelaus was tailed off. Tho positions of the leaders wero much tho sanio as the field entered the straight, but Menelaus and Kangitero had moved up, -while Jean Laddo had got through 'on tho' fence. In a good finish Hangitero won by a head from Joan Laddo, who was tho same distance in front qf Menelaus. Botanist was close up fourth, and then . came Gaycium.
Munition and Black Lake wero tho best fancied in tho Nikau Hack Handicap. That good beginner Merry Andrew set a fast pace, and soon had the field strung out. He was first into tho straight, with Black Lake, Flying Spur, and Munition prominent ainpngst the others. Over the last fifty yards tho little-fanciod Namur came through, and in a good finish ousted Merry Andrew by a neck. Elying SpiV£. Crown Imperial, Mascot, and Black Lake were ina cluster in that order. •
All the acceptors started in the Manchester Handicap, in which there was another surprise. Square Deal was a slightly better favourite than Adjutant, Rinaldo,' and Lady Louisa. The favourite was on,tho outside at the barrier, and never once threatened danger. At tho start. Rose Pink and Bon Reve lod the ■ field at a fast pace, with _Lady Louisa, Want, and Maniaroa handy. Bronk Delaval and Rinaldo moved up down the 'balck, and lentoring tho straight they appeared dangerous, with Lady Louisa. In the run to,the post Bronk Delaval got his neck in front of Rinaldo, and Orleans, who came fast, was closo up third. Lady Louisa and Maniaioa were just behind the placed horses.
Kurapai was withdrawn from the Open Hurdles, and Eecord and Glenorchy woro backed in that order. Austin -went to the front at the harrier Tise, and ridden a patient race by Traill ho led the wholo way. Arlington was in second place most of tho way, and only lost his position in tho last few strides to Glonorchy. Eecord began slowly, bnt he made a good run on the home' bend, which he failed to sustain, The winner has been a long time' getting his number hoisted on top, but he has run 6cveral good races, and has been placed many times. His owner only_ acquired him a few weeks back, and since then he has run two eocnnds and won once. After Austin's success in the Ojpen \Hurdles form pointed to Kurapai and Nicomar as the most likely in the Hack ■Hurdles, but heavy support was also forthcoming for Combustion. Nicomar fell at tho fence opposite tho stand, and Kurapai, who was always prominent, took .charge half a mile from home, and won nicely. Combustion just boat Deluge for second place. Portland Lady, who had made most of the running, was fourth, and then camo Mount Victoria and Captain Mirb. There was a very long delay at the barrier for the Oroua Stakes, the raco being started 25 minutes late. This did' not assist tho top-weight, who was a hot favourite. Ho began well, but Interlude and Tino Atua headed him off. At the distance the favourite was in charge, but Bisogne, finishing strongly, beat him by a neck. Tino Atua was two lengtns away, and Interlude was nest. THE RESULTS. By Telegraph—Vrcs3 Association. YORK STAKES, of 200 sovs. Seven furlonjs.
