STATEMENT BY LORD DERBY Australian-New Zealand Cable Aesociation. New York, November 22. A message from London states that Lord Derby (Undor-SecretaTy for War) informed American ]onrnalists "that any German peace proposal would bo met in consideration of its worth. Any proposal not giving us what we are fighting for will not bo considered for an instant." Tho situation was still exactly that set out in the interview with Mr. Lloyd George, "in which he declared that peace was unthinkable until tho menace of the possibility of civilisation being again threatened by Germany was eliminated."
