Tho shortages of tho military districts are as (follow —Auckland, 126; Wellington, 288; Canterbury, 23-1; Otago, 138; total, 786. The shortage in tho AA'ellington. The figures aro another indication that voluntary recruiting is no longer sufficient to keep the month)\ drafte at their proper strength.
