PALMERSTON SHOW
Wednesday morning will sec tho opening of tho Metropolitan Show at l v almcrston North. It will continue on Thursday and .Friday succeeding, and from advices received the event should be a notable one.
The town lias taken on its usual show air and bustle. Stock and other exhibits are arriving by each train, sliowriien ara congregating, stewards are in evidence, tho grounds are in splendid heart, and preparations are now practically complete. The size of tho show is sucli that it takes some four or five days ahead to rccoive and settle the oxhibite in their places. Always famous for its cattle exhibition, Palinerston Show will again have a notable display this year. Horses, sheep, pigs, competitions, and other divisions will afford their various supporters both education and amusement. A featuro of the show will be tho motor exhibit, showing the great strides locomotion is making in this direction. ' The attention of City renders is again, drawn to the special train leaving Thorndon at 7.45 a.m., and returning from Palinerston North at 4.43 p.m. on Friday, November 3 (people's day). This will give City visitors and supporters an excellent opportunity to get five hours at the show with comfortable travelling both going and coming. Provided fine wcathor, rules, the big show at Palmerston North should be a huge success.
