Stocks still continue to he .substantially reduced, and at the present time tho Government ore taking very largo quantities of new spirits for munition purposes. Prices consequently are remaining very firm, and you may be surprised to learn that although blenders' price for whiskies three.years old.and over is in the region, of 13s. 6d. and He. per gallon, brokers who hold largo stocks of single g>ain and malt whiskies for blending purposes arc being paid at higher prices by the blenders. At the moment it is impossible to -buy three-year-old grain whisky for blending purposes.at anything less than about 15s. 6d: to 16s. per gallon. Even et this price holders of stocks are very unwilling to sell. So far as we can judge, we will not.be surprised, if the end of the year should see tho price of Mended whisky standing at about £1 per gallon." SYDNEY WOOL SALES.
