Sydney, October 22. Trouble is threatened iu the coal trade. The Miners' Federation has demanded a conference before Saturday on the questions of an eight-hour day and paymeriFof overtime. Failing a conference, they intend to observe only the hours, conditions) and rates of pay set out in their claims. ACQUITTED. • ON CHARGE OF MURDER. Sydney, October 21.\ Michael Kennedy has; been acquitted on the charge of murdering •Constable Duncan at Tottenham.
[Kennedy's brother Ronald and Frank Franz are under sentence \if death for the murder of Duncan.
