TARANAKI ST. METHODIST CHURCH .
Tlie circuit quarterly meeting of the Board of Management met on Monday evening, presided over by. the Rev. J* 6. Chapman. A-review of the quarter's work showed that the various activities of the church were well sustained. The war is making deniands on tlie roll of membership, of the Young Men's Bible Class. The stewards presented a, very satisfactory balance-sheet, with £17 to Credit on the auarter's working. The membership roll showed 579 full members and a large junior membership. Commendatory reference was' made to th© • work of Sister Mary at the Aro Street Mission, and a further inorease to her salary unanimously voted. _ The invitation, extended to tho Rev. J. «. Chapman last quarterly meetinc tnat ho should remain as superintendent of the circuit for tho seventh year was ■unanimously sustained and heartily accepted, subject to approval by conference. The stewards received a request from tho Brooklyn' part of the cirouitasking'that the Rev. J. H. TVhite should ha invited to remain another year there. The mooting decided to send the request to tho Conference Committee. Messrs. Redstone and Chinchen were appointed delegates to the Annual Synod, to be held in November, and Messrs. Williams and Osborne appointed substitute representatives. Messrs. J. Kellow and .• Kenny were appointed ciroiut auditors for the ensuing year. Matters relating to the entertainment of tho soldiers, and other matters, wore dealt witll.
