To-day tlio Napior Harbour Board decided that no permanent hands who receive payment for overtime shall bo paid for their annual holiday., In the past this haß been done. . 'lie Napier Harbour Board is considering the advisableness of introducing a new "system for the payment of men who volunteer or have volunteered for active service. A lengthy discussion at to-day's meeting indicated that.in future the difference in wages will not be paid, but a- certain amount will be set aside until the men return. The question ivas doforred till next meeting, though Mr. J. V. Brown, M.P.j strongly opposed 'postponement, and advocated men receiving tho difference between the salary paid by the board and soldiers' pay.
