NEW BY-LAW IN OPERATION. The new by-law, which' has for its purpose ' the diversion, of all, or. - nearly ' all, . vehicular and m-otpr' traffic from the south side of the plantation. at the eastern extremity of Courtenay Place, in order to leave the one side clear for tramway traffic only, is now in operation. Notices in bold lottering have been erected at the foot of Kent Terrace and at the western end of the plantation, warning drivers of the existence of the bylaw and tho risk .tlioy take in not observing the same. The only exemption made is in the case of drivers of vehicles who have business to transact with the premises on the southern side of the plantation in Courtenay Place (between No. 1 and No. 15). This is a by-law fliat lias been badTy needed for a long time past. It is an everyday occurrence for people about to board'cars bound citywards to have to rush for the sidewalk to avoid accident from the fast-speeding motor cyclist or motor drivers. These folk, for the future, will have to- leave i'the coveted woodblocks and take to honest macadam on the other side of tho reserve.
