CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Tho Wellington Chamber of Commerce met yesterday. Mr. J.-Macin-tosh presided. The Trade and Industry Committee of the lloyal Colonial Instituto forwarded a copy of a resolution to the effect that to encourage British industry it/should bp • obligatory on State Departments, local bodies, and bodies spendingvpublic money, or enjoying charters to buy Empire-made goods.. Tho Secretary, to the Post Office wrote stating that it was not the intention of tho Department to abandon the present method of publishing new telephone subscribers. The printed cards system had not proved succosfnl. On the motion of Mr. T. Ballinger, it was resolved to protest to the Postal Department against the undermanning of the Money Order Office, because this caused inconvenience on mail days.
