PRISONERS OF WAR
COMPLAIN OF RECEIVING NO , MONEY. Recently. the Defence Minister Genii the following cablegram to the High Commissioner:—"Lotterg received hera within the last few days from prisoners of war in Turkey indicate that New Zealand prisoners of war are not receiving any money., Complaint is mada that every other unit has had moneyt sent to it at times, but that the New Zealanders have not received a panny since they were captured. Please lefi mo have full information on the mafcJ ter by telegraph." . In the course of a long telegram ia "ply, Sir Thomas Mackenzie details the steps he took to provide for the wants of the New Zealand prisoners or war. His message concludes: "Since receipt of your cablegram, the Foreign: Office have been interviewed, and are cabling the American Ambassador at Constantinople regarding the complamte. _ I will telegraph again when, a reply is received."
